Terms of Service

Last updated: June 20, 2026

By downloading, installing, or using DevCleaner ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("the Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

DevCleaner is licensed, not sold. The developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on macOS devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Mac App Store Terms of Service.

2. Free and Pro tiers

The App offers a free tier with manual scanning and cleanup, and a paid "Pro" tier with additional features such as scheduled auto-scan, Docker support, and disk-usage history.

  • Free tier: Available at no cost for personal and commercial use.
  • Pro tier: Billed monthly or annually through the Apple App Store via StoreKit. A 7-day free trial is available; you can cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid charges.
  • All purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose — identifying and removing developer cache files on your own Mac. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App to access, modify, or delete files on devices you do not own or control.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App without written permission.
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

4. Data and file safety

The App moves selected items to the macOS Trash — it does not permanently delete files without your explicit confirmation. Source code files are never targeted. However, you are solely responsible for reviewing what is selected before confirming a cleanup.

The developer is not liable for any data loss resulting from the use of the App, including but not limited to the deletion of files you chose to remove.

5. Privacy

The App does not collect, transmit, or store personal data on external servers. Scan results and preferences are stored locally on your Mac. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The developer does not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will reclaim a specific amount of disk space.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — arising out of or related to your use of the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

The developer's total liability for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

8. Updates and changes

The developer may update the App and these Terms at any time. Material changes to the Terms will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Termination

The developer may terminate or suspend your license at any time if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies from your devices. Pro subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period and are governed by Apple's subscription policies.

10. Third-party tools

The App interacts with system tools such as xcrun simctl and FileManager.trashItem. The developer is not responsible for changes in macOS or Xcode that may affect the App's behavior.

11. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

12. Contact
